Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 July 2026

NSCPastPapers (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use nscpastpapers.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It is drafted to comply with the South African Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.

Information we collect

  • Account data. If you create an account, we store your email address and an encrypted password.
  • Learning data. Questions you ask our AI tutor, marks you enter into the marks predictor, and flashcards you generate are processed to give you a response.
  • Usage data. We use privacy-friendly analytics to understand which pages are visited and which subjects are popular. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
  • Device data. Standard log data such as IP address, browser type and operating system.

How we use your information

  • To operate and improve the NSCPastPapers service.
  • To generate AI tutoring responses and study material for you.
  • To detect abuse and keep the platform safe.
  • To send transactional emails such as password resets.

Advertising & cookies

NSCPastPapers is free thanks to advertising. We use Google AdSense to serve ads on content pages such as our subject library and study guides. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve personalised ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. For more information, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Ads are not shown on our authentication pages, on the AI tutor, or on other interactive tools where they would interfere with your studying.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the processors we need to operate the service: our hosting provider, our authentication and database provider, our AI model provider (for the AI tutor), and Google AdSense (for advertising).

Data retention

Account data is kept for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing us. Anonymous analytics may be retained for statistical purposes.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to its processing. Email privacy@nscpastpapers.com to exercise any of these rights.

Children

NSCPastPapers is designed for high-school learners, many of whom are minors. We collect the minimum information necessary to run the service and never knowingly sell or share children’s data for marketing purposes.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or via a banner on the site.
